Joust Hotels

Team Hotel Blocks will be made by your club directors.

The Wildwood is home to the Shore Resort Historic District, or Doo Wop Motel District, that was home to over 300 motels built during the Doo-Wop era of the 1950s and 1960s. Officially recognized as a historic district by the State of New Jersey, it lies primarily in the municipality of Wildwood Crest, along a two-mile stretch between Atlantic and Ocean avenues, and includes areas in Wildwood and North Wildwood. The term doo-wop was coined by Cape May's Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts in the early 1990s to describe the unique, space-age architectural style, which is also referred to as the Googie or populuxe style. Joust is a "stay to play" tournament.  Which means you must stay at a tournament hotel. And in the youth sports world, you will find a no more debated topic than "stay-to-play", If you are not a fan of stay to play, hear us out. Joust decided to make this a stay to play "type" of event for all the benefits and try to eliminate some of the down sides of stay to play.  Joust Tournament Housing is working directly with hotels to provide a tournament hotels. Which nearly all of them are small family owned businesses and indeed got us great rates. We also have much friendlier policies for teams and families.

We can not included every hotel that applies to be a tournament hotel. If there is a hotel you would like to stay at and not on the list. Email us at and we will invite them to participate.

When you get to Wildwood you'll fine there are hundreds of small hotels, this is good and bad.  It may take you some time to find a nice hotel you like. We did alot of work in vetting out the better hotels, we stayed at some last year and this took some time.  On your own you would have to do the same.  We have also done work to ensure the rates are indeed lower than same time in previous years.  Participating hotels that are providing a discount need to ensure they have guests and not to be used as a lower price to take to another hotel.  Without stay to play hotels can charge what they want.

Rooms for your team will be blocked by your Club Director. Look for booking instructions from your club.

The following situations are approved exemptions to the stay to play policy.
